"For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers."
Fan-fucking-tastic. If there has been a President before now that has acknowledged the legitimacy of non-belief, I can't recall having heard about it.
Just to nitpick a little, though, I wish people would stop saying things like "Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath": forty-three Americans have taken it; Grover Cleveland did it twice, non-consecutively. It's a minor disappointment that Obama and his speechwriters screwed that up.
